Vision and Mission:
Vision: To put children first by putting instruction first.
Transforming students’ lives occurs when teachers provide experiences and instruction that foster change. The Willard faculty and staff will be measured in student skills, knowledge, and character. To align the school with research on optimum performance and best practices, this year, Willard has adopted:
1. Grade-level teams to foster collegial and student support
2. Shared school-wide goals that are linked to supporting and improving instruction
3. Data systems that allow teachers and students to identify what works and to adjust teacher practices to produce improved student results
School Profile: One of three middle schools in the Berkeley Unified School District, Willard Middle School has a long and rich history as one of the nation’s first junior high schools.
